| Description: | The Employment Specialist successfully promotes and supports the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas through the establishment and maintenance of activities to develop, locate, and secure job openings for participants of the Marriage for Keeps program in the Kansas City area. |
| Duties: | • Initiates and maintains ongoing personal contacts with a variety of business and industry representatives and job placement/training agencies to promote Catholic Charities of NE Kansas Marriage for Keeps participant placement • Makes cold calls to potential employers; explains the benefits and employment support services provided by the Marriage for Keeps Program to employers, including addressing employer’s special needs • Collects data from employers related to job openings including job requirements and skills • Matches job skills with applicant qualifications; refers qualified applicants to employers and conducts necessary follow-up when applicants are placed in positions • Keeps updated regarding job fairs and Internet resources |
| Qualifications: | • Minimum 4 year Bachelor Degree required. College coursework with an emphasis in business, education, communications, or the social sciences preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred |
